Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has back the Reds to sign Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon as he feels the player would replace Sadio Mane.
“I think it would be a good signing for Liverpool, I really like it,” Carragher said. “I can’t believe he hasn’t had more chances with England. He’s got the speed to kill defenders. There aren’t many players in the world who can do that.”
“I’m a fan, but I’m sure there are a lot of other ยูฟ่าเบท clubs as well. He’s at a top club in Newcastle, but there’s a lot of talk about whether he’s been offered to Liverpool.”
“There is still a lot of time between now and the end of the window. I think many teams will do serious business at the end of the window because of the Euros.”
“I really feel Liverpool haven’t replace the pace they had with Sadio Mane and they need to replace that.”
Gordon has emerged as a target for Liverpool ahead of the new season, having previously tried to secure his signature earlier in the summer.
Talks fell through at first attempt after Newcastle demanded Jarrell Quansah in exchange. Then, when a swap deal between Gordon and Joe Gomez was agreed, the deal fell through because Newcastle had to sell other players to solve their financial problems first.
